Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle led all Miami Dolphins pass catchers on Thursday Night Football.
Jaylen Waddle continued to assert himself as the top pass catching threat for the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. Waddle led the team with six catches for eighty-two yards but failed to find the endzone for the third time in four games.
Waddle has become the Dolphins de facto wide receiver one in the absence of Tyreek Hill. Miami has struggled this season but Waddle is averaging 14.4 yards per reception and is on pace to match his career high in touchdown receptions (8).
There is plenty of turmoil surrounding the Dolphins right now and this loss to the Baltimore Ravens won’t help but as long as Waddle remains the undisputed top option in their passing attack he can be counted on as a wide receiver two for fantasy managers.

Jaylen Waddle has a strong performance as Miami takes down Atlanta
Jaylen Waddle leads the Miami Dolphins in receiving, recording five receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown. Waddle’s biggest play of the day was a quick pass over the middle where he turned on the jets and found the endzone for a 43-yard catch and run.
Waddle has had two top 10 WR finishes since the Tyreek Hill injury and will continue to be the focal point of the Dolphins’ passing game. Suppose the Dolphins can keep this momentum rolling into next week. In that case, managers should feel confident inserting Waddle into their lineups in hopes he can replicate performances from his rookie and sophomore seasons.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has a big game, the first without star receiver Tyreek Hill.
Wide Receiver Jaylen Waddle has his best game of the season against the Carolina Panthers in a brutal loss. Waddle finished with 6 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown on 9 targets. This is Miami’s first game without star receiver Tyreek Hill after he dislocated his knee, thus ending his season. Waddle has assumed the WR1 role for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in Hill’s absence.
Waddle owners should rejoice! Waddle will now be the top option in the passing game for Miami. News came out that Miami is planning to release Tyreek Hill after the season. This makes Waddle a great trade option in dynasty. Waddle has elite speed and a must start for the rest of the season.

Dolphins star wideout Tyreek Hill to undergo season ending surgery for a torn ACL and multiple ligaments.
Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill is set to miss the rest of the 2025 season with a torn ACL and several other torn ligaments in his knee. The Dolphins will be without their top target which will require other talent to step up.
The logical expectation is that receiver Jaylen Waddle will take over the reins as the top target in the offense along with De’Von Achane who is a receiving threat out of the backfield. Of note, Darren Waller had a productive night versus the Jets with a 3-28-2 receiving line. Malik Washington figures to gain snap share from the slot as well.
Waddle has scored 13.2 fantasy points per game which ranks 24th. He is in line to become a higher end WR2 in fantasy football. Achane’s 25% target share is No.2 and will most assuredly go up which will help him return top-5 RB value the rest of the season.

Miami’s WR duo score but offense continues to struggle
Miami faced off against Buffalo in an AFC East clash for Thursday night football. In a game where the Bills were heavy favorites, the Dolphins were able to trade blows and keep the game close for much of the night. The Dolphins went into the half tied after an impressive 16-play drive ending with a Waddle TD. They then started the 4th with a Hill TD to tie the game again. Unfortunately, due to a penalty and then a turnover, Miami saw its record fall to 0-3.
Although both Waddle and Hill found the end zone, the offense struggled to move the ball through the air, and neither receiver was able to break 50 yards. The creative, explosive Miami offense from a couple of years ago seems to have disappeared. Hill and Waddle are in the boom or bust territory and becoming heavily touchdown dependent. After two decent fantasy outings, this may be the time to sell high on the Miami receivers.

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel says that Tyreek Hill is on track to play Week 1.
It has been a rocky offseason for Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. After blasting the team publicly and wanting out of Miami at the end of the 2024 season, he has had to do a lot to make amends with his teammates. Recently, Hill wasn’t voted to be team captain for the first time in his 3-year tenure with the team.
Hill hasn’t practiced the last few weeks due to an oblique and calf injury. Many have suspected that the injury may be a band aid to a deeper problem between Hill and the organization. With McDaniel saying Hill is lining up to play Week 1, those concerns can be quelled momentarily.
The focus now shifts to his Week 1 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Fantasy gamers will be watching closely as his ADP has been suppressed in all formats. Any return to prime form will reap massive rewards for those who roster him. Alternately, any implosion between Hill and the team will have a direct impact on his play. The door isn’t entirely shut on Hill playing for a different team during the 2025 season.
