Tom Brady Bio

Tom Brady is a quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is a former sixth-round pick who was selected 199th overall from the University of Michigan in the 1999 NFL Draft. During his time at Michigan, Brady’s threw for 4,773 yards, thirty touchdowns and seventeen interceptions, recording a passer rating of 134.9. In his final year at Michigan, he helped lead the Wolverines to a 10-2 record and an Orange Bowl victory over Alabama. It’s no secret Brady has seen far more success in the NFL than he did in college, winning seven of ten Super Bowl appearances. Brady also won five Super Bowl MVP Awards and three league MVPs (2007, 2010 and 2017). In addition, Brady was named First Team All-Pro three times, led the league in passing touchdowns five times, as well as passing yards four times. He holds every major NFL passing record for the regular season and the postseason, and is now widely regarded as the greatest quarterback of all-time.

It is hard to find a weak spot in Brady’s performance in 2021. In hopes of running back his 2020 Super Bowl championship, Brady put together arguably his best season in 2021, at age 44. He threw for a league-high 5,316 yards while recording a league-leading 43 touchdown passes compared to only 12 interceptions. His 719 pass attempts and 485 completions in 2021 were both career-highs for the seasoned vet. These marks also led the league. Brady also dominated in several next gen stats, including air yards (5756), money throws (44), and adjusted yards per attempt (7.6). He had a fantasy ranking of QB3 in fantasy points per game (22.7) and was second among quarterbacks in best ball points added (105.0). He finished 2021 ranked second in the league in QBR (68.5), and completed the most deep balls (87) while finishing 13th in deep ball completion percentage (40.2%). While under pressure, Brady completed 46.8% of his passes and had a true completion percentage of 73.6%.

Brady retired temporarily in February of 2022 as the all-time leader in passing touchdowns (84,520), passing touchdowns (624) pass attempts (11,317) and completions (7,263). No quarterback has won more regular season games than Brady (243), but perhaps the more impressive feat is that he lost only 73 regular season games through the 2021 season (3.32 losses per active season). Brady failed to reach the Super Bowl in 2021, but returns to the Bucs in 2022 after a retirement that lasted less than one month. He heads into his age-45 season operating at the peak of his powers and into a conference weakened by the losses of Russell Wilson and Davante Adams to AFC teams.
