49ers VP of Player Personnel Tariq Ahmad said the team drafted WR De’Zhaun Stribling because of his toughness and work ethic. Meanwhile, Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall, and Christian Kirk currently sit atop the 49ers’ wide receiver depth chart.

Although he may have a slow start, Stribling’s usage should be monitored in seasonal leagues, and he warrants consideration in the second half of dynasty rookies drafts based on draft capital and athleticism alone. His playmaking ability could eventually start to earn him consistent targets, especially given the durability concerns surrounding the three veterans.

The San Francisco 49ers just secured a new weapon at the top of the second round in De’Zhaun Stribling, a 6-foot-2, 207-pound physical marvel who pairs a 4.36-second 40-yard dash with a massive 116.1 Speed Score (97th-percentile). Stribling showcases an elite 18.1 Breakout Age and a rugged 3.04 Yards Per Route Run that proves he was dominating secondaries while his peers were still learning the playbook.

For dynasty managers, it is a good boost for Stribling as a premier second-round, maybe even late first-round, rookie pick as he joins Ricky Pearsall and Mike Evans in the Bay Area.

It’s time for the NFL Divisional Round of the playoffs. It also means the latest in injury news to report before the teams release before gametime.

  • Today, the No. 6 seed Buffalo Bills head to Mile High Stadium to face the top-seeded Denver Broncos. Josh Allen has many bumps and bruises ailing him, but he will be “full go” for the matchup, absent receivers Gabe Davis and Tyrell Shavers, who landed on the injured reserve last week, ending their season for an already-depleted wide receiver corps.
  • Good news in that department came in the form of Curtis Samuel being activated from the list. He is active for the game and will jump right in as a weapon for Allen.
  • Tight end Dalton Kincaid was limited all week (knee, calf) but has been playing through the injury of late. He will do so again on Saturday.
  • Placekicker Matt Prater is good to go; it appears his quad injury is completely behind him.
  • Running Back Ty Johnson (ankle) was only able to practice once this week, and on a limited basis. Expected to be the Bills’ No. 2 RB over Ray Davis. Johnson is officially out.
  • The Denver Broncos have no notable injuries on the offensive side after a week of rest.

  • The No. 6-seeded San Francisco 49ers will have to take on their rivals in Seattle without tight end George Kittle against the Seahawks.
  • Wide receiver Jacob Cowing (IR) will not be activated before the game.
  • Wideout Ricky Pearsall (PCL) is questionable and will be a game-time decision. Pearsall himself admitted a lack of explosiveness thanks to the injury but hopes to be on the field. Kyle Shanahan relayed that if he can play, there will be no snap count restrictions whatsoever.
  • Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold, already battling a quad injury, aggravated the injury in practice and was forced to cut the session short. Darnold maintains that he is “fine” and is “looking forward to being out there.” Seattle’s backup quarterback is Drew Lock.
  • Wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njigba missed practice on consecutive days this week, but neither absence was injury-related.

During the taping of “49ers Game Plan” on the NBC Bay Area affiliate, San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan announced informally that starting QB Brock Purdy would be back under center for the 49ers on Sunday. The team travels to Arizona for a divisional showdown with new starter Jacoby Brissett and the Cardinals.

The timing could not be better for San Fran (6-4), which has slipped to third in the NFC West behind the Seahawks and Rams (both 7-2), who will play one another in Los Angeles at the same time on Sunday. The team hopes that, as well as Mac Jones has played in his stead, their starter in Purdy is irreplaceable. Shanahan maintains there was “zero controversy” at the position. The team has brought their starter along slowly (he did not even dress as backup last week), suggesting that Sir Brocks-a-Lot should be all systems go.

Improving matters is that presumptive breakout No. 1 wide receiver Ricky Pearsall will also return to the field after an extended absence. He joins wideout Jauan Jennings and tight end George Kittle, who have each made their way back into the fold already.

Fantasy lowdown: If Purdy has been dropped in fantasy leagues, it won’t take long for him to be rostered in full again. The matchup with Arizona, which is ranked fifth against quarterbacks, isn’t the greatest to walk back into. However, a glance at the 49ers’ schedule suggests that they will be battling for the playoffs when their fantasy schedule wraps up against weak passing defenses, including Tennessee, Indianapolis, and Chicago, in weeks 15, 16, and 17, following a well-timed Week 14 bye.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was limited in practice on Wednesday.  He was seen making cuts and running routes.  He’s been dealing with a knee injury since Week 4.  He has a chance of playing this week if he gets a full practice in.  So far on the season he has eclipsed over 100 yard receiving twice in four games played.  If healthy could be a flex option.

The 49ers have been beleaguered by injury in 2025. Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has been out since Week 4 with a sprained PCL.

Fantasy managers are in a tough spot as Pearsall was crushing early in the season. While Pearsall is a tough hold, he must be left in the IR spot as he will surely crush the moment he is active. With starting quarterback up in the air between Mac Jones and Brock Purdy possibly returning, roll out and trust Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle. Anything else is entering risky territory.
