Lander Barton is a standout linebacker for the Utah Utes, known for his exceptional athleticism and football IQ. Standing 6'4" and weighing 236 pounds, Barton has been a key defensive player for Utah, starting in all 12 games during the 2024 season. He recorded a team-leading 72 tackles, including 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and two interceptions, one of which he returned for an 87-yard touchdown against Iowa State. His performance earned him a spot on the Academic All-Big 12 Team and recognition as a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation's top linebacker.

A four-star recruit from Brighton High School in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, Barton was the No. 2 recruit in the state and the No. 17 linebacker nationally. He was named a High School All-American and invited to the All-American Bowl. In his senior year, Barton recorded 122 total tackles, 8.0 sacks, and two interceptions, showcasing his versatility and playmaking ability. Throughout his high school career, he amassed over 365 total tackles, 24.0 tackles for loss, and 15.0 sacks, along with six interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns. Barton’s blend of size, speed, and instincts has made him a highly regarded prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft.
