The Baltimore Ravens became the first of the trio of AFC North franchises to hire a new head coach, agreeing to terms with Jesse Minter on a five-year deal
When John Harbaugh was dismissed by the Baltimore Ravens after compiling a 193-124 record (including playoffs) over the course of his 18 seasons at the helm, questions abounded as to who would replace him. The Ravens reportedly had as many as 15 candidates, whittled down to Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver, Bills OC Joe Brady, and Chargers DC Jesse Minter. In the end, Minter’s familiarity as a former defensive position coach with Baltimore from 2017 to 2020 won out.
This is Minter’s first foray to the top of the coaching tree. He served as defensive coordinator at four different college programs with marked success, and then made the jump back to the NFL by being tapped by the Los Angeles Chargers as their defensive coordinator in 2024. He remained in that role until this coaching cycle, when his name repeatedly surfaced in several teams’ searches. In 2025-2026, LA ranked in the top 10 on defense in both points allowed and total yards. In Minter’s first season as defensive coordinator, the Chargers finished first in the league in defensive points allowed as well as 10th in total yards.
The Ravens, known for years as a defense-first team, have struggled recently. Although playing top-10 defense against the run in 2025, it was largely due to teams’ ability to throw at will. The Ravens avoided last place in passing yards yielded by only four per game (Dallas). The hiring of Minter signals a hope for the Ravens to return to an identity they’ve been known for for three decades.
Fantasy lowdown: Managers can expect the same offensive commitment to the run game from Baltimore, especially with Derrick Henry still holding the rock. Assuming Lamar Jackson is completely healed up for next season, he should see a significant bounce-back in his rushing yards. The Ravens and their new head coach hope to own the ball-control game, supplemented with timely passes to Zay Flowers and Isaiah Likely, whose takeover at tight end appears to be nearly complete. If anyone in dynasty leagues is selling low, it’s a good time to go shopping.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is considered day-to-day with a back injury.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is listed as day-to-day after suffering a significant back contusion in Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots. The injury happened when Jackson was kneed in the back and did not return to the game in the second half.
Jackson is questionable for their Week 17 matchup on Saturday with the Green Bay Packers. If he cannot go the Ravens will turn to backup quarterback Tyler Huntley with their playoff hopes on the line.

The Baltimore Ravens gets their revenge on Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15.
In a defensive slugfest that produced one of the quietest fantasy outings this week, the Baltimore Ravens dominated the Cincinnati Bengals 24-0. Lamar Jackson delivered a modest yet impactful passing line, throwing 2 touchdowns on just 150 passing yards. Baltimore’s Derrick Henry finished with 100 rushing yards, offering the most reliable points from a backfield perspective. Meanwhile, Zay Flowers found the endzone finishing with 3 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown.
For the Bengals, Joe Burrow suffered a rare shutout day with no touchdowns and two interceptions, although Ja’Marr Chase still topped 130 receiving yards, one of the few bright spots for fantasy managers. Cincinnati is now eliminated from playoff contention.

Ravens tight end Mark Andrews signs a 3-year, $39.3 million extension to stay in Baltimore.
Rumors of a Mark Andrews demise were sorely overstated. The Ravens all time leading receiver will stay in Baltimore for 3 more years to the tune of $39.3 million.
The move comes at the surprise of those who thought Isaiah Likely would take over the TE1 role, allowing Andrews to leave in free agency. The Ravens value Andrews as does star quarterback Lamar Jackson. Andrews’ 9.2 fantasy points per game rank 19th, however the 6 seasons prior, Andrews ranked 7th or better in that metric. His dynasty value is a whole lot safer with his new 3-year deal.

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens struggle to get offense going in their Thanksgiving Day Game verse the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Baltimore Ravens fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in their Thanksgiving Day matchup, struggling to generate offense in their 13-32 loss. Former two-time MVP Lamar Jackson threw for 246 yards and added 27 rushing yards. Derrick Henry led the backfield with 60 yards and a touchdown, but Baltimore’s wide receivers were held in check, none topping 25 yards.
The Ravens leaned heavily on their tight ends instead. Isaiah Likely led the team with 95 yards on five receptions, while Mark Andrews contributed four catches for 47 yards.
Lamar and the Ravens draw favorable matchups in the coming weeks, with games against the Pittsburg Steelers and another meeting with the Bengals on deck.

Lamar Jackson left the game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a hamstring injury.
In week 4 action against the Kansas City Chiefs, star quarterback Lamar Jackson left the game with a hamstring injury. The Ravens went on to lose the game and fall to a record of 1-3.
Lamar’s status for Week 5 remains unknown, and the team will be monitoring him at practice throughout the week. Heading into the clash with the Chiefs, Jackson looked his usual self, throwing 54 completions good for 722 yards and 9 touchdowns while adding one on the ground. Fantasy managers will want to try and grab Cooper Rush off the waiver wire if no other quarterback options are available.
