De'Von Achane and Jaylen Wright to have Huge Roles in Miami
1 month ago

Miami Dolphins expect the running tandem of De’Von Achane and Jaylen Wright to have a big year in the running game.

Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane expects a much bigger season in 2025 than in 2024. His goal is to have over 1,000 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving. This is within reach for the back who finished as RB5 and RB6, respectively the previous two seasons.

Achane suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 1 of 2024. A high ankle sprain is a brutal injury that players continue to play through; the pain never disappears until the injury is fully healed after sufficient rest. The injury will sap a player of their top-end speed. Achane is known for his speed, so imagine the ceiling Achane can reach after being fully healed.

Jaylen Wright is expected to have a large role also, with Raheem Mostert gone to Las Vegas. Wright is an athletic freak with excellent size at 5’11” and 210 lbs with 4.38 speed. The Dolphins’ offense sputtered most of the 2024 season, but if they can stay healthy, they can be nearly unstoppable.

Achane seems to be dropping in ADP, and it’s confusing considering his finish in 2024. He will be an absolute steal for players who can scoop him up. Wright should be a top 20 option for all formats, and he will have top-five potential should Achane sustain any injury. Fantasy owners are hoping for injury luck in Miami.

Dolphins Draft Speedster RB Jaylen Wright With the 120th Pick
1 year ago

University of Tennesse Running Back Jaylen Wright goes to the Miami Dolphins with the 120th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jaylen Wright is another speedster out of University of Tennesse.  Wright played for the Volunteers in 2021 to 2023, as a freshman he was a backup but appeared in 9 games rushing for 409.  He followed that up with leading the team with 875 rushing yards as a backup.  Finally, in 2023 he got the shot to be the starter and took full advantage of it, rushing for 1,013 yards as well as having 22 catches for 141 yards receiving.

At the Combine, Wright helped himself out with very impressive numbers!  He measured in at 5’10” and 210 pounds.  He ran out of his shoes with 4.38 40-yard dash, jumping out of the room with 38″ vertical, and a broad jump of 11’2″.  These numbers at the Combine showed his freak athleticism and his sprinter speed.

If you got speed the Dolphins will take you, and they did with the 120th pick in the draft.  He will first take a back seat role to Raheem Mostert and De’von Achane.  But we have seen in previous seasons Mostert battles with injuries and Achane did as well last season.  Wright does have a comparison to Alvin Kamara, which both came out of Tennesse.

Sharps stay sharp as Jaylen Wright is set to move up every type of draft board.

Jaylen Wright is scorching at the NFL Combine. Jaylen Wright measures in at 5’10” and 210 lbs with a 4.38 40-yard dash. Wright posted a 38’’ vertical jump as well as an 11’2’’ broad jump and a 9.75 RAS. Scott Barrett has cited that Wright’s broad jump is the 4th best ever since 2000 with an 89 percentile vertical jump.

Jaylen Wright finishes forward on his runs, has a 2nd gear when out in space at the second level, and is a patient runner that offers ability to rush in the gap and get to the edge. Day 2 draft capital is well within Wright’s range of outcomes. With bruise and burst, Jaylen Wright is judicious running violent to contact and in evading tacklers.
