Jam Miller Bio

Jam Miller is a running back and 2026 NFL Draft prospect who spent four seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide. A native of Tyler, Texas, Miller committed to Alabama as a four-star recruit in the 2022 class, choosing the Crimson Tide after initially committing to Texas. He spent his first two seasons as a depth contributor behind Roydell Williams and Jase McClellan, rushing for 233 yards and two touchdowns in 2022 and 201 yards in 2023. With both veterans departing, Miller assumed a larger featured role in 2024 alongside Justice Haynes, rushing for 668 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games. He returned as Alabama's lead back in 2025 but dealt with a dislocated collarbone that cost him three games, finishing the year with 504 yards and three touchdowns on 130 carries in 11 appearances. Over his four-year career in Tuscaloosa, Miller totaled 1,606 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns while playing in multiple SEC Championship-contending seasons and gaining extensive experience against some of the country's best defenses, declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft after the season.

Standing 5-10 and 221 pounds, Miller brings a powerful, downhill build to NFL evaluations, with strong pad level, leg drive, and contact balance that allow him to generate yards through initial contact and convert short-yardage situations. He runs with the straight-ahead power of a true gap-scheme back, excelling when his shoulders are squared to the line of scrimmage and the running lanes open quickly in front of him. His ball security is a notable positive, having fumbled just twice across his entire career on nearly 400 touches. The concerns center on his limited creativity and elusiveness as a runner, modest receiving production, and pass protection technique that still needs refinement for him to earn full three-down trust in the NFL. Miller projects as a late-round Day 3 pick who fits best in a power or gap-scheme offense as a short-yardage and early-down specialist, with the frame and toughness to compete for a depth role on an NFL roster.
