Jahmyr Gibbs was a 4-star running back from Dalton, GA. He originally committed to Georgia Tech to play college football, where he had over 700 all-purpose yards as a true freshman. The 2021 season was Gibbs' best season at Georgia Tech, when he rushed for over 700 yards and had over 400 receiving yards. Gibbs was then onto bigger and better things, as he transferred to the University of Alabama to finish out his college career. The Tide's backfield opened up after the departure of Brian Robinson to the NFL.
In a down year for Alabama, Gibbs put a stranglehold on the backfield, leading the team by a large margin in rushing yards and scrimmage yards. He also led the team with 44 receptions, furthering his profile as a top-notch receiving back. His 1,300 all-purpose yards and 10 total touchdowns were enough for Gibbs to declare for the NFL draft. A highly sought-after prospect, he was selected with the 12th pick in the 1st round.
