Wide reciever Gabe Davis signs back with the Buffalo Bills who originally drafted in the 4th round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Gabe Davis returns to the Buffalo Bills after a injury shortened year with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Davis had his best year in Buffalo in 2022 with 48 catches, 836 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns with a WR36 finish. Davis has never been the top receiver for his team but he has a knack for making big plays in important moments. This is especially true in playoffs games as he still has the NFL record for 4 receiving touchdowns in a playoff game.
Davis is still recovering from meniscus surgery and will start on the team’s practice squad until he is ready to return to the field. This makes Gabe Davis undraftable in all formats and droppable in dynasty. Davis has never been a reliable option in fantasy outside the 2022 season. He has to compete with Keon Coleman, Kahlil Shakir and Josh Palmer for touches when he returns from injury. This puts him way down on the depth chart.

After just one season with the team, the Jaguars release wide receiver Gabriel Davis.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are making big changes to their offense. Those plans do not include wide receiver Gabriel Davis as he has been released. With head coach Liam Coen coming to town, a revival in fantasy goodness is expected with Trevor Lawrence at the helm.
The Jaguars made a bold move to support Lawrence’s ascendance by trading up to pick 2 in the NFL Draft in order to select the hybrid 2024 Heisman winner in Colorado’s Travis Hunter. Opposite of Brian Thomas Jr. the Jaguars are bound to improve significantly on offense.
As Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast.” With Gabriel Davis it is in the form of being released 1 year into his 3-year, $39 million contract. Look for Davis to sign a low risk 1-year deal with a wide receiver needy team. A Bills reunion immediately comes to mind.

Gabe Davis is beginning to get slightly incorporated into offseason training with the Jaguars.
Davis was working on his timing with Quarterback Trevor Lawrence last week, and will continue to ramp up as the offseason unfolds. Davis missed the playoffs for the Bills last year after suffering a PCL sprain to his knee in the first half of week 17 against the Dolphins. This offseason, he left the Bills to sign with the Jaguars.
Davis will need to prove he can get up to full speed in practice and demonstrate timing with Lawrence before it’s time to get excited. Davis offers boom or bust potential but has been too inconsistent throughout his career. Adding uncertainty with a change of teams doesn’t make him any less risky for fantasy purposes. Fantasy Managers should continue to target Davis in best ball drafts and fade him in others where consistency is important.
Former Bills Wide Reciever is heading to Jacksonville on a 3-year, $39 million deal.
Gabe Davis is leaving frigid Buffalo for sunny Jacksonville on a 3- year, $39 million deal, with $11 million guaranteed at signing. Davis has had at at least 6 receiving touchdowns with a average of 16.6 yards per reception in his 3 years at Buffalo. Gabe Davis has been a inconsistent second wide receiver for Josh Allen. Davis is out to prove he can be a number one receiver.
Gabe Davis joining the Jaguars receivers brings to mind the Spidermans pointing at each other meme. Gabe Davis, Zay Jones, and Christian Kirk all pointing fingers at each other. Each one is a WR2 vying to be WR1. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been vocal about having Calvin Ridley back. If Ridley signs back to the Jaguars, Davis will be battling Jones and Kirk for playing time.
As a Davis owner myself, his inconsistencies have been frustrating. Going to the Jags seems to be questionable unless Ridley is truly gone. It looks to be more of the same inconsistencies in Jacksonville as in Buffalo. Look for Davis at the WR3 range in your draft.
