The Davie Police Department has declared the battery investigation involving Geno Smith inactive, as home security footage showed no physical altercation and authorities could not identify a primary aggressor. Barring new evidence, the newly minted Jets signal-caller will avoid legal liability and focus entirely on resurrecting his career in New York.

Fantasy managers can safely draft Smith as a late-round option in both fantasy football best ball and dynasty league formats, betting on a rebound from his rough 2025 campaign where he registered a 34.1 QBR (No. 38) and threw 17 Interceptions (No. 1) in Las Vegas.

Davie Police responded to domestic battery allegations at the Florida home of New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith on Sunday, though no arrests were made and the case is currently inactive while undergoing a final review by detectives. The incident surfaced this past weekend when a woman named “Kristen” claimed Smith “beat my ass” in a video posted on social media. The X clip shows images of Smith, and concludes with him speaking to the Davie, Florida Police.

This off-field uncertainty is a data point to consider before drafting Smith, but the lack of an open investigation lowers the probability that the Jets starting QB is suspended. Smith is only useful in best ball and superflex formats.

The New York Jets just added another QB to their room in Cade Klubnik at No. 110.  He ended his college career with a 63.9% Completion Percentage and his five-star pedigree make him a developmental stash in the Big Apple. Klubnik had a 19.5 Breakout Age and a sneaky rushing floor—with 550+ career rushing yards—proving he possesses a bit of the dual-threat upside required to command a modern NFL offense.

In dynasty Superflex formats, Klubnik is taxi-squad target, and if the cards all fall the right way, he could be the Jets QB of the future. But for this year, he will compete with Brady Cook and Tyrod Taylor for a roster spot.

Clemson’s Cade Klubnik has a lot of hype to live up to, he has had some signature moments as a Tiger. His senior season at Clemson was not pretty compared to his superb junior season. In 2024 Klubnik completed 63.4% of his passes for 3,639 yards, 36 passing touchdowns and six interceptions. He has excellent athleticism also, he added 463 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns on 119 carries. He was graded pretty high in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he chose to return for one final season. His regression in production has led to a massive dip in his draft stock.

Cade Klubnik has the tools to be a great quarterback, but his processing skills will need to improve to be a consistent starter in the NFL. He has the arm talent and the legs to make any offensive coordinator drool, but he struggles with immediate pressure and reading post snap defensive coverage change. Klubnik’s skillset is similar to Bo Nix.

PFF has Klubnik as draft prospect number 128. This puts him as a fourth round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. If Klubnik can prove he can improve his processing skills, he has a chance to be a potential steal for a team.
