After a poor Pro Day, Xavier Restrepo is seeing his draft stock rapidly drop.
Xavier Restrepo is having a difficult time navigating the draft cycle. Between the Senior Bowl, NFL Combine, and now his Pro Day, there has been muted interest in Restrepo due to not testing up until recently.
That all changed for the worse as Xavier Restrepo ran his 40-yard dash at his Pro Day this week. Clocking a 4.83 40-yard dash time, Restrepo is certainly going to garner criticism from those who feel the 40-yard dash is significant. For those who feel the 40-yard dash does not matter, Restrepo will be a good litmus test to determine how important the 40-yard dash is.
Restrepo took to social media shortly after and explained that he suffered a right hamstring injury during his warm-up. Restrepo claims he has been running a consistent 4.53-4.58 while training the 2 weeks prior to the event.
With Xavier Restrepo falling in dynasty rookie mocks, expect him to provide value beyond round 3 of dynasty rookie drafts. It is difficult to erase the visual effect of his connection with Cam Ward and his ability to maneuver past defenders in college. At face value, this most recent performance is bearish, but shouldn’t be taken as a death sentence to his NFL career.
