Will Howard 2025 NFL Draft Prospect & Senior Bowl Preview
Will Howard is a big, athletic quarterback with a lot of upside, standing at 6’4″ and 237 pounds. He’s got the ability to move around the pocket and even run when needed, which makes him a threat in the red zone. He’s been really solid in the short-to-intermediate game, with a strong arm and good ball placement. His mechanics, however, are a bit inconsistent, especially with his footwork, which can make his throws inaccurate at times. He also has a bit of a gunslinger mentality that can get him into trouble with turnovers, and at 24, he’s already considered close to his ceiling as a prospect.
Heading into the Combine, teams will be looking at how well Howard can fix his mechanics and be more consistent with his throws. His mobility will be key too, and seeing how he moves in drills will help scouts get a sense of how well he could handle NFL pressure. Howard’s got a lot of tools to work with, but it’s all about how much he can improve in areas like footwork and decision-making. While he’s probably not a guy who’s going to start right away, his mix of size, athleticism, and ability to make plays could get him drafted as a solid backup with some future upside. He’s looking at a likely third-to-fourth round pick unless he blows scouts away with his performance.
