Missouri Wide Receiver Luther Burden III is taken by the Chicago Bears with the 39th pick in the 2nd round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Chicago Bears continue investing in wide receiver again by taking Luther Burden III from Missouri. Burden had a excellent sophomore season with 86 catches, 1,212 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns. His junior season was disappointing in comparison. Quarterback play was a big factor in the lack of production. Burden is very much a DJ Moore clone, so this is a very curious pick by the Bears. This is especially after taking tight end Colston Loveland with their 1st round pick. It is understandable to be helping out 2nd year quarterback Caleb Williams with weapons but it can be called into question whether this pick was a luxury for the Bears.
Luther Burden III is a difficult projection for fantasy on the Bears. We have no idea if he will be an immediate contributor to the team. DJ Moore and Rome Odunze are the top options along with tight ends Loveland and Cole Kmet. Burden will need to prove he can take targets from these guys. He is at best a deep dynasty stash until more information about his playing time comes to light.
