Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard took an 8.5 million dollar pay cut to remain on the team in 2025.
Earlier this off-season, Allen Lazard asked to be traded by the Jets. With no suitors, Lazard was in line to make $11 million this year. However, the Jets renegotiated the contract and saved $8.5 million against the cap with this renegotiated contract.
Lazard finished The 2024 season with 530 receiving yards, 37 receptions, and 60 targets over 12 games. Lazard also caught six touchdowns for the third time in the last four seasons.
The Jets do not have a WR2 in line behind Garrett Wilson, yet, and if the team addresses that position in the draft, it may take time for the rookie to provide immediate impact. Lazard is a very sneaky late round pick, as he’s being drafted outside the Top-130 of wide receivers. He’s a big bodied, down the field receiver, who can catch 50-50 balls and has been a red zone threat.
