The final piece of the puzzle for the 2026 NFL Draft falls into place, as Trinidad Chambliss has been denied the ability to return to college football. Chambliss was all the rage during the college football playoffs, where he was able to demonstrate his mobility, arm talent, and poise against some of the nation’s top programs.

This has been one of the more bizarre stories leading up to the NFL Draft. In addition to his strong college football playoffs, most of the expected top QBs in this year’s class either had catastrophic seasons or decided to return to school. Chambliss has a strong case to be one of the top QBs selected this year, so why was he fighting so hard to return to school in the first place? While that does raise a bit of a red flag, he is still talented enough to justify being the 2nd quarterback off the board, perhaps at the end of the 1st round like the previous Ole Miss QB, Jaxson Dart.

From a fantasy perspective, this is the quarterback to watch. Mendoza is a near-lock to go 1st overall and none of the other quarterbacks in this class profile as a fantasy football game changer. If Chambliss is selected in round 1, he could be the fantasy QB to target.
