Russell Wilson
Sin City, Let’s Ride? Russell Wilson to Raiders Rumored

Russell Wilson to the Raiders rumors are already flying.

The Las Vegas Raiders have been desperately searching for a winning solution at the QB position since the unceremonious split with all-time franchise leader Derek Carr.

Within moments of the Raiders hiring of Pete Carroll as head coach, the rumors of Russell Wilson to Vegas have begun flying. The inability to draft high enough, sign a free agent, or make a trade has led to the likes of Jimmy Garropolo, Gardner Minshew, Jarret Stidham, and Aidan O’Connell starting at the position. But, there’s a new sheriff in town.

Pete Carroll, Super Bowl champion head coach of the Seattle Seahawks is the new head coach of the Raiders. Before the ink was dry on his 3 year contract, the rumors began that his quarterback in Seattle, Russell Wilson, would be a good fit.

Wilson struggled with injury to begin 2024, but helped the Steelers to a playoff berth after leaving a shattered Denver Broncos team. Wilson played well and led the NFL in multiple passing categories in 2024 with a bare bones offense that focused on the run game and throwing deep. The Raiders, at present, don’t possess the running ability that the Steelers employ, but have a similar receiving corps, with which, Russ could cook.

At Wilson’s age, he would be nothing more than a “bridge” QB while new GM John Spytek searches for a legacy Hall of Famer at the position to guide the Raiders toward the next great football dynasty. For Russ to find success, the Raiders would need to add a legitimate deep-threat at Wide Receiver this offseason.
