Edgerrin Cooper
The Packers Draft Edgerrin Cooper With the 45th Pick
1 week ago

The Green Bay Packers select Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper with the 45th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Heading into the NFL Combine, Edgerrin Cooper was one of the most highly regarded linebackers in this class. Over the last three seasons, Cooper has compiled 205 total tackles with 30.5 of them going for a loss and he capped off his senior season with eight sacks. His senior season did not go unnoticed as he was named to First-team Associated Press All-American and First-team All-SEC.

Measuring in at 6′-2″ and 230 lbs, Cooper illustrated some of his speed by flashing a 4.51 40-yard dash. Cooper has top-end speed, plays with physicality, and is very sharp at determining where plays will be going. He posted a Total Next Gen Stat Score of 82 and ranked as the second-best linebacker in this class.

With the Packers drafting Cooper with the 45th pick, he should be thrust into a starting role from the beginning of camp. For IDP dynasty managers in need of linebacker help, Cooper should be an option for you to consider later on in your rookie drafts. He will be a great source of tackles, sacks, and possibly an occasional forced fumble.
