The Philadelphia Eagles have selected Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. with the 155th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.

For the last two seasons, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. has been one of the better linebackers in the nation. During that stretch, he has racked up 177 total tackles, 28.5 tackles were for loss, 12 sacks, and two interceptions. Trotter Jr. is a two-time Second-team Associated Press All-American and in his senior season was named First-team All-ACC.

At the NFL Combine, Trotter Jr. came in at 6′-0″ and 228 lbs. He demonstrated his lateral quickness with a 7.13-second cone drill and showed off his power with 21 bench press reps. Trotter Jr. does have a high football IQ and is very elusive when he is pass-rushing, which could lead to more sacks in the NFL. He had a 6.29 prospect grade and a total Next Gen Stats Score of 73.

Trotter Jr. hopes to follow in his father Jeremiah Trotter Sr.’s (Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Famer) footsteps by being a four-time pro bowler. With Trotter Jr. being drafted by the Eagles it will be intriguing to monitor Trotter Jr.’s development during the offseason. In deeper IDP leagues, dynasty managers should consider drafting Trotter Jr. in the later rounds of their rookie drafts but depending on how savvy your league mates are, he could probably be picked off waivers after the draft.
