Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton announced on Wednesday that they are benching quarterback Russell Wilson for the remainder of the 2023 season. Russell Wilson is expected to be cut by the Broncos in March, as per league sources.  A move that will save the Broncos 37 million in injury guarantees in 2025 that vests in March 2024.

This isn’t a surprise move, as the Broncos have conceded 3 of their last 4 contests and are outside of the AFC wild card race. The Broncos will look at Jarrett Stidham to jump start this Broncos offense that has struggled to score points as of late, averaging a mere 20 points per game in their last 4.
