With Quinshon Judkins drafted in round 2, the Browns double up at running back and select Dylan Sampson in round 4.
The Cleveland Browns are making big changes to their backfield. In round 2 they selected Quinshon Judkins from Ohio State. The Browns wasted no time on day 3 of the draft by selecting Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson.
The expectation after day 2 of the NFL Draft was that Judkins and Jerome Ford would form a tandem in the backfield. This has quickly changed to a larger committee. Judkins is the superior talent and should have the edge in the Browns backfield, but Dylan Sampson is no slouch. He has incredible speed as was displayed at his Pro Day with a 4.46 40-yard dash.
This will likely cause a dip in the price for Quinshon Judkins as there is more competition. The Browns will be a backfield to attack as fantasy richness year over year comes from ambiguous backfields. The risk is always in choosing the wrong running back, but the reward in the fortune of selecting the best running back pays incredible dividends. In best ball, Judkins, Ford, and Sampson will be appealing to draft.
