Iowa State Cornerback T.J. Tampa was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

T.J. Tampa was a 3 year starter for Iowa State at cornerback. He earned All-Conference honors his junior and senior seasons, including 3rd team All-American his final year. At 6’1 feet tall, Tampa has the size to be physical with his opponents. He finished his college career with 107 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions and 19 pass breakups.

Tampa will add much needed depth to the Ravens’ secondary. Starter Marlon Humphrey has not been healthy for the last 3 seasons.  Tampa could develop into a starter across from fellow rookie corner Nate Wiggins in the near future. Tampa will never be a top man to man corner due to his lack of top end speed, however he is a good zone corner and a boon in run support. The Baltimore Ravens never fail to load up on physical players on defense and T.J. Tampa fits right in.
