Commanders WR Terry McLaurin requested a trade as a result of stalled contract negotiations.
The Washington Commanders and Wide Receiver Terry McLaurin have come to a standstill in contract negotiations. McLaurin, subsequently, requested a trade on July 31st.
McLaurin led Washington wide receivers in targets each of his five seasons in the NFL. A former 3rd round pick out of Ohio State, McLaurin has provided stability during a tumultuous time in the organization’s history– coaching changes, ownership changes, team name changes.
Now 30 years old, McLaurin is staring at what may be the final long-term contract of his career. While “demanding a trade” is notable in the negotiation process, it is unlikely that Washington trades McLaurin– especially given the lack of depth behind him at the WR position.
