Terrance Ferguson Has Familiarity With Rams Offense From Oregon
2 weeks ago

The rookie Tight End was featured in a press conference during OTAs where he mentioned the Oregon offense he played for was heavily influenced by the Rams.

Terrance Ferguson was quoted saying the Oregon offense used concepts from the McVay system such as using motion to attack space, also citing that he’s had plenty of opportunities to study the system and that he feels comfortable in it already. Ferguson is confident in bringing his versatility to the Rams, stretching the field and creating mismatches with linebackers or safeties. Not just idle words when you look into his very impressive combine results Ferguson ended up with the second highest athleticism score amongst the 2025 TE rookies, and is in the 95th percentile all time at the position.

Following Scott Boulanger’s (aka Jax Falcone) Anatomy of a Tight End, Ferguson checks nearly all the boxes for a breakout: Round 2 draft pick, early declare,  6’5”, 245+ lbs, sub 4.70 40-yard dash, and  speed score between 100-110 (108). He came in at 1.28 yards per team pass attempt in his best season and really just missed hitting the 14 yards per reception mark. He did, however, have some big games against top competition – 41 YPR against Michigan State, 17 YPR vs Michigan, 17.3 vs Wisconsin and 15.5 against Ohio State, so when the team needed him he stepped up. While the Rams offense has some major target hogs this year, Ferguson should have a shot of becoming an impact player as soon as next year.
