Spencer Rattler
Spencer Rattler Underwhelms at NFL Combine
2 months ago

As expected, the former Oklahoma and South Carolina signal-caller lacked in athleticism at the 2024 NFL Combine.

Despite displaying prowess in areas of pocket presence, a quick release, and improvising out-of-structure, Spencer Rattler failed to improve his outlook heading into the 2024 NFL Draft after an uninspiring combine performance. Profiling as a potential backup NFL quarterback down the line, Rattler’s athletic numbers failed to inspire scouts. Rattler “boasted” a 4.96-second 40-yard dash in addition to a 32-inch vertical leap, while his size and speed composite grades tested as “poor.” Furthermore, his explosion graded out as “okay,” rounding out an otherwise mediocre-at-best combine for the 23-year-old.

Although Rattler is thought to be a top-ten quarterback in a strong class and possesses the innate skills that some of the more elite athletes might lack, he failed to raise his stock any further this past weekend and remains a Day Two pick in all likelihood. As for his fantasy prospects, Rattler’s outlook will likely be tied to the team that drafts him. In the best-case scenario, he could serve as a shot in the dark for owners in dynasty or deeper formats.
