Mason Taylor will provide tremendous value for tight end needy teams who need to build elsewhere earlier in the NFL draft.
The 2025 rookie class is deep at tight end. Tyler Warren is a blue chip player while Colston Loveland and Harold Fannin Jr. will have plenty of suitors in the NFL draft. LSU’s Mason Taylor is a player to keep an eye on at the Senior Bowl.
Taylor’s father is former Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor. Jason Taylor has a gold jacket and is in the Hall of Fame. Mason will look to continue the family name in the NFL. Taylor has a Pro Football Focus rank of 117 in the 4th round on their Big Board 2025.
Taylor is capable of lining up as a traditional tight end, in the slot, and out wide. He offers soft hands and has an ability to make catches in traffic. He recorded 55 receptions, 546 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns in his junior season. With meager numbers, it will be important for Mason Taylor to demonstrate his physical traits at the Senior Bowl practices and in the game. Some tight end needy teams include the Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and the New York Jets.
