Robert Woods Retires from the NFL

Per Adam Schefter, wide receiver Robert Woods announced his retirement after 13 seasons.

Woods signed a one-day contract with the Los Angeles Rams to retire with the team that saw his career peak.

He entered the league as a second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2013, the fifth receiver off the board. He played his entire four-year rookie contract with the Bills, where his best fantasy season saw him average 10.2 points per game in 2014. Woods left Buffalo in free agency and signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017.

As a member of the Rams, “Bobby Trees” went on to have his most productive seasons. He finished as the WR19 or better in fantasy points per game in the five seasons he spent in LA. His best season was 2019, when he had 90 receptions for 1,134 yards and finished as the WR12 in fantasy points per game. Woods’ time in Los Angeles ended after the 2021 season, which saw the Rams win the Super Bowl and Woods tear his ACL. Unfortunately, he never recaptured the fantasy production he had on the Rams during his time with the Titans and Texans since 2021.
