RB Tank Bigsby is Set for a Bigger Role for Jacksonville Jaguars

2nd year running back Tank Bigby set for a bigger role for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Peterson has expressed that getting 2nd year running back Tank Bigsby on the field is important to lighten lead back, Travis Etienne’s load. Tank Bigsby had a disappointing rookie year after getting drafted in the 3rd round out of Auburn. He finished with 50 carries for 132 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 bad fumbles. The fumbles landed Bigsby in the doghouse for the whole season.

The Jaguars offense could stand to benefit from lightening Travis Etienne’s role. Etienne was boom or bust last season on a game to game basis. Tank Bigsby stepping up should keep Etienne fresh as the season progresses. Do not expect Bigbsy to take the load completely as Etienne has the explosiveness to take the ball to the house.

Bigbsy is a great handcuff for Etienne owners. Do not expect him to take more than 30% of the load unless an injury takes Etienne down. Etienne still deserves majority of the touches, the Bigbsy hype is likely to sizzle out again.
