Journeyman running back D’Onta Foreman is signing with the Cleveland Browns on a 1-year deal.
D’Onta Forman was a very talented running back coming out of Texas with a 94th percentile speed score of 112.6 at 233 lbs and 6 feet tall. Unfortunately during week 11 of his rookie season he tore his Achilles tendon. Forman only appeared in one more game for the Texans and did not appear in a game in 2019. Since then he has played for the Titans, Falcons, Panthers and the Bears. Foreman’s career best came in Carolina during the 2022 season after the Panthers traded away all star running back Christian McCaffrey to San Francisco. Forman finished the season rushing for 914 yards and five touchdowns on 203 attempts, all career highs.
D’Onta Forman appeared in 9 games last season for Chicago Bears after running mates Kahlil Herbert and Roschon Johnson got injured. Despite starting 8 games Forman mustered 502 total yards and 5 total touchdowns. D’Onta Forman will now head to Cleveland to provide much needed depth at running back after star back Nick Chubb went down with a gruesome knee injury last season. Forman can fulfill the power back role along side the shifty Jerome Ford until Chubb is ready to go.
Forman is an absolute hand cuff for Nick Chubb just in case Chubb’s knee hasn’t healed or he suffers a setback. Forman may have lost some explosiveness due to his rookie season Achilles tear, but he has shown to be productive when teams consistently get him the ball. Stash Forman late if you take a chance on Nick Chubb.
