Former 3rd overall draft pick from the 2021 NFL Draft Trey Lance shines in the Hall of Fame game.
Remember 2021 NFL Draft pick Trey Lance? He is now the back up for the Los Angeles Chargers and shined in his first preseason game with them. Lance threw for 120 yards, while completing 13/20. He also added 2 passing touchdowns as well. His first touchdown went to tight end Will Dissly on a 4 & 2 play. He also connected with rookie wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith on a 15-yard pass. In addition to his passing game, he added 8 yards on the ground as well.
Lance perhaps viewed as a bust never got things going with the 49ers. In his rookie year he was the back up to Jimmy Garoppolo but did appear in 6 games. In his second season he started the season as the 49ers’ starting quarterback and played first game in a monsoon, followed by getting injured which costed him the season and eventually his job to Brock Purdy. Which led to him being traded to the Dallas Cowboys and signing this past offseason with the Chargers.
For fantasy if anything were to ever happen to Justin Herbert, Trey Lance should be an add right away with his rushing ability and perhaps getting another opportunity in the league if all goes well.
