Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Ollie Oxen Free: Gordon Throws for a TD in the Senior Bowl
2 weeks ago

Ollie Gordon II pulled off a trick play and threw a TD to wide receiver Jayden Higgins in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Ollie Gordon II earned a lot of buzz throughout the practices leading up to the Senior Bowl. So much so, in fact, that the coaches drew up a play trusting Gordon to launch a pass downfield into the basket of Jayden Higgins.

This was not Gordon II’s first career pass in college and beyond. In Week 13 of 2024 against Texas Tech, Gordon completed a 27 yard pass under pressure. Gordon attempted one pass in 2023 that fell incomplete.

Gordon’s versatility as both a rusher and receiver, along with his quick study to pick up a trick play, should instill confidence with coaches looking at Gordon. Gordon has earned at least 38 targets in back-to-back seasons at Oklahoma State, and improved as a pass-blocker in 2024. Even thought Gordon’s counting stats regressed from 2023, he still rushed for 12 TDs and earned a solid 76.9 PFF Rush grade.

The Senior Bowl performance earned an uptick in Gordon’s mock draft projection, rising to a late-round 3 draft capital per NFL Mock Draft Database.  Gordon’s trajectory gives Chuba Hubbard vibes: steering clear during the rookie year, but with organizational confidence in Year 2 and 3 can provide major fantasy value.  Can dynasty managers wait that long?
