The free agent wasted little time in finding one of the premier offenses for running backs in the Los Angeles Chargers.
Najee Harris has signed a 1-year $9.25 million contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. The move comes early in the legal tampering period for free agency. Oft rumored to be interested in running back, the Chargers secure their lead back ahead of the NFL Draft.
Najee Harris has played 4 seasons and 17 games in each of them. Najee lives near the 4.0 yards per carry mark every season and has had 1,000 yards rushing or more every year of his career. Since Najee’s rookie campaign in 2021 where he had 74 receptions with Ben Roethlisberger, there has been a steady decline in his utilization as a receiver. With dwindling touchdown totals and mediocre numbers, Najee Harris was the RB-20 in 2024.
The bullish case for Najee Harris is that he will go to a run heavy scheme with a better offensive line and quarterback play. Harris can expect a spike in touchdown equity and an increase in rushing attempts in 2025. Najee Harris is a ripe candidate to finish as a top-12 running back in fantasy football should he play a full 17 games in 2025.
