The Cardinals sophomore wide receiver put on some muscle recently, while an official weigh in has not been revealed, he should come in much higher than his 205 lbs playing weight last season
This was an interesting choice from Marvin Harrison Jr., who noted that the weight gain happened naturally and he is experimenting with how best to shape his body for the upcoming season. When asked about how the added muscle will contribute to his on field performance, Harrison Jr said that it will help with his contested catches and YAC. Notably those were two areas Harrison Jr struggles in last season – He ended the year with a 28.6% contested catch rate (#85 in the NFL) and 148 yards after the catch, or 1.3 per target (#70). Harrison Jr also had some of the worst target separation statistics in the NFL last year, partly because of the offensive scheme and the frequency of double coverage he faced as a big name rookie. Hopefully the added bulk will help his game and not take away from his explosion.
