Mark Andrews
Mark Andrews to play Week 2

Mark Andrews to make debut week 2 after being out week 1 with a quad injury.

Mark Andrews missed a good portion of training camp with an undisclosed injury. Leading up to week 1. Andrews practiced in a limited capacity which had many believing he would suit up. Unfortunately for many fantasy managers, the Ravens shelved Andrews for week 1 and backup TE Isaiah Likely totaled a 1 target 1 catch 4 yard dud Vs the Houston Texans. Thankfully, Andrews logged a full practice on Friday leading to a report from Ian Rapoport that he is expected to play.

Andrews being back in the lineup will give us our first look at how new Baltimore OC Todd Monken wants to utilize the All Pro TE. In week 1 TEIsaiah Likely was lightly used in Todd Monkens offense, but that may have been due to other factors such as afavorable run matchup or poor weather. This week Vs the Cincinnati Bengals, the Ravens offense may open up more with Andrews in tow.

Week 1 with Andrews out also gave a good look at the pecking order at the WR position in Baltimore. Rookie WR Zay Flowers emerged as the top WR option with Andrews out earning 10 targets. It will be important to monitor his usage with Andrews back. Zay could be the new 2nd fiddle much like Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was in 2021 when he earned 146 targets playing along side Andrews. Third year WR Rashod Bateman and veteran WR Odell Beckham Jr each earned 3 targets in week 1, both players may be delegated to being boom/bust WR3 types at best if this usage continues in week 2. Andrews also re-enters an offense without RB JK Dobbins who’s season unfortunately ended week 1 after he tore his Achilles. The last time Andrews was healthy in a JK Dobbins less Ravens O he stole the TE1 overall crown from Travis Kelce. Both star TEs missed week 1, so it’s fair game for the race to number 1 beginning this week.
