Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III Runs 4.41 40-Yard Dash and Shines in Drills at the Combine
3 weeks ago

Luther Burden III is one of the more polarizing draft prospects at the NFL Combine, but was one of the top performers overall among wide receivers at the 2025 NFL Combine.

Burden had a tremendous sophomore year with over 1,200 receiving yards and 9 TDs. Many are concerned by the huge dip in production his Junior year, where he gained only 676 receiving yards. When we asked him at the combine what led to the dip in production, he answered that it came down a lack of opportunities.

Burden is still a top 5 ranked receiver prospect and was the only of which to participate in the on field drills in Indianapolis. It was good to see that he wanted to compete and he looked very smooth in his routes and natural in every drill, not dropping a ball. In addition, running a 4.41 40-yard dash and measuring in at 6’0” will only help him going forward.

Latest mock drafts have Burden falling out of the 1st round, but he did everything he could to change that at the combine. Burden projects as a target earning slot receiver at the next level and shouldn’t be written off for his Junior year production issues.
