Former Miami Safety Kamren Kinchens joins the Los Angeles Rams secondary in the 3rd round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Kamren Kinchens was a playmaker for the Miami Hurricanes. He earned 1st Team All-American and All-ACC honors his sophomore year with 6 interceptions, 59 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, 6 pass breakups and 1 forced fumble. His junior season sees almost identical stats with 5 interceptions,  59 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, 5 pass break ups and 1 sack, earning him 1st Team All-ACC honors again. What Kinchens lacks in athleticism with a 4.65 second forty yard dash with his 5’11” and 203 pound frame, he makes up for with instincts and ball skills to force turnovers.

The Los Angeles Rams select the playmaking safety from Miami in 3rd round of the 2024 NFL draft. Look for defensive coordinator Raheem Morris find a way to play Kinchens to his strengths and have an immediate role for a Rams defense, who lost Hall of Famer Aaron Donald to retirement. Kinchens lack of speed will limit his coverage skills, keeping him moving down hill to make plays on shallow routes or in the run game will be where his bread will be buttered the most. Kinchens will have a downhill linebacker/safety role.
