LaJohntay Wester shined in a crowded CU Wide Receiver room at college and shared the he knows he will have to earn his spot at the next level.
LaJohntay Wester shared during combine interviews that he might not be an impact player right away at the NFL level, but he knows what he can bring to a team. When asked what drill he was most excited for, he quickly said the 40-yard dash. His 4.46 40-yard time is not bad whatsoever, but his size of 5’10”, 163 lbs is concerning.
Wester also chose to participate in jumping drills which help project explosiveness, and his 32″ vertical and 10’1″ broad jump aren’t great marks. Wester shared during combine interviews that he believes he was the best separator at CU and had to work for all of his catches. While Wester didn’t blow anyone away with his athletic testing, he’s a lunch pail guy who was consistently productive in college.
Wester is the type of player who you root for and can defy the numbers with the nuances to his game and solid hands. He’ll face an uphill battle to make it in the NFL but will certainly have a chance to work his way onto the field with his route running ability.
