John Ross Signs a One-Year Deal With the Eagles
2 months ago

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed wide receiver John Ross to a one-year deal.

The Eagles have decided to kick the tires and bring in John Ross for one last ride. This transaction comes after DeVante Parker announced that he will be retiring from the NFL after nine seasons. Ross previously held the record for the fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL combine with a time of 4.22. His record fell this past March after Xavier Worthy broke his record with a blazing 4.21 time.

Ross hasn’t seen any regular season game action since 2021 with the Giants. The veteran receiver has played in just 37 games since being drafted by the Bengals in 2017. During that span, he has totaled 62 receptions for 957 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Eagles are set in the receiving game with A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and newly acquired Saquon Barkley coming out of the backfield. Ross will compete to be the WR3 for Philadelphia. Dynasty managers can take a flier pick on Ross in the later rounds of deeper league start-up drafts or pick him off waivers to see if he can get acclimated with the offense.  Should either Brown or  Smith happen to get injured, Ross could find himself in a great opportunity to make a splash in 2024, and if that should happen sell high as soon as possible.
