With the UFA tender, J.K. Dobbins will remain free to sign with any team until the start of training camp, or July 22, 2025, whichever is later. If Dobbins hasn’t found a new team by then, the Chargers will have exclusive negotiating rights with Dobbins.

Dobbins may have found himself on the outside looking in after the Chargers traded for Najee Harris and then drafted Omarion Hampton in the first round. Dobbins is only 26 and in his prime, and has just come off his best NFL season with 905 rushing yards and 32 receptions for 153 receiving yards with 9 total touchdowns. There is still hope that he signs with a team that didn’t spend up at the position in the draft: Kansas City, The Bears, or Saints would be viable spots — otherwise he may be waiting for a mid-season injury to step into a better situation.
