Running Back Jerome Ford will start the 2025 season for the Cleveland Browns.
The Cleveland Browns have stated that Jerome Ford is the starting running despite drafting two rookies in Ohio State’s Quinshon Judkins and Tennessee Vol Dylan Sampson. The Browns would not have taken two running backs in the first four rounds of the NFL draft if they truly believed in Jerome Ford’s ability to be the starting running back. Ford had the opportunity to take the reins when star running back Nick Chubb injured his knee, and he did not.
Ford has familiarity with the offense and the coaches and those are about the best advantages he has over the two rookies. He needs to show he can play consistently to keep the job over the rookie pair. Be wary of taking Ford in any fantasy format as he may not have the job for long.
