The Ole Miss quarterback could land in a perfect situation should he fall to the Los Angeles Rams at pick 26.
Jaxson Dart has slowly climbed his way into the QB 3 seat of this draft class. Its been a slow burn for him but he has caught on with a prototypical size, plus arm strength and rushing upside – the relative weakness in QB competition this year gave him the final push. While still not regarded as a first round graded talent, Dart has continued to improve not only his performance but also his mechanics and understanding of the game in each of his collegiate seasons.
There is still so much uncertainty at Quarterback with a little over a week to go before draft night, Dart has been projected anywhere form a top 10 pick to down into the second round. Ending up with the Rams as their first rounder would be almost an ideal outcome. Dart would have the time to acclimate to the next level by sitting behind a quarterback that had close-to identical stats in his age 20 season, and nearly an identical build. (Side Note: Dart notably earned a higher QBR and ended his Sr year with a higher college YPA than Stafford). Stafford is on a year to year contract with the Rams and will be 38 by the time the Super Bowl comes around. The Rams offense and Sean McVay could be very fruitful to dynasty players who are patient enough to draft and stash Dart.
