Giants GM Joe Schoen called Russell Wilson the outright starter on SiriusXM, noted that the team plans for Jaxson Dart to learn and develop in his first year.
Jaxson Dart landed well in the draft, the Giants traded back into the first round to select him at pick 25 and he will have one of the best receivers to throw to in Malik Nabers, should he get his chance. While the current plan is to have Dart sit for a year and develop, Joe Schoen noted that anything can happen in the NFL and he wants Dart to be ready in case his number is called. Schoen was assistant GM in Buffalo when they had a similar pre-season plan with Josh Allen, and we have seen how that ended up. Schoen did note that at the time Buffalo didn’t have quarterbacks like Russell Wilson (Or even Jameis Winston), so don’t get your hopes up too much for Dart in the 2025 season.
