Jaxson Dart Has Nice Outing at NFL Combine
3 weeks ago

Ole Miss Quarterback Jaxson Dart stood out amongst relatively weak QB competition, he potentially solidified his place as a first round pick.

The NFL combine is not necessarily the most predictable measure of future QB success, it’s such a hard position to evaluate consistently — by online analysts and NFL franchise managers as well. At best, a solid outing at a combine can provide enough confirmation bias for a QB needy franchise to pull the trigger on their favorite prospect with a high pick, which is potentially at play here for Jaxson Dart.

Dart looked like one of the better throwers at the combine throughout all drills, he demonstrated good placement with smooth short and intermediate throws and had one of the best long balls in Indy this past weekend. While he didn’t run a 40, he was clocked at 58 miles per hour on the throwing velocity test, which would tie him with Jared Goff for 3rd in the NFL behind only Josh Allen (62) and Baker Mayfield (59). Dart looked poised on the field and in interviews, and he may be poised to keep climbing up those NFL big boards. What a great year for Dart to declare — there are no franchise-defining QB’s going into this draft, free agents are coming off the board by the week, and 5 teams picking in the top 10 need a solution at the position this offseason. The perfect storm is brewing for Dart to end up as a top 10 pick this year.
