The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have drafted University of Washington Wide Receiver, Jalen McMillan, with the 92nd pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
Even in a crowded Wide Receiver room at Washington that featured Ja’Lynn Polk and Rome Odunze, McMillan was still able to stand out and command targets when healthy. Now, he’ll head to Tampa Bay and have a chance to be an immediate contributor.
This news isn’t great for Trey Palmer owners. You can expect McMillan to slot in ahead of Palmer, burying him behind the top 3 wide receivers.
For McMillan, this landing spot is good, but not great. Star Wide Receiver, Mike Evans, signed an extension this offseason and shows no signs of slowing down as Baker Mayfield’s top target. Chris Godwin is no slouch either, but you can’t expect both of them to stick around forever. Overall, this upgrades the weapons for Mayfield and provides McMillan an opportunity to ease into an increased role in future years.
