Clemson Tigers 4th year Senior Tight End, Jake Briningstool, has accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl and has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
A taller but leaner Tight End, listed at 6’6” and between 230-240lbs, Jake Briningstool has been a trusted short area target for the Tigers pass game this past season. Finishing the year with 49 receptions for 530 yards and 7 Touchdowns, Jake was second on the team in receptions last season. However, due to his low Yards per Reception (10.8) he finished 4th in yards.
As a draft prospect, unless he bulks up or further develops as a blocker, he is unlikely to play an every down role at the next level. He is intriguing as a pass catching TE option though, at Clemson Briningstool was often targeted in the red zone using his athleticism and wide catch radius to snag passes. His strength and lack of bulk may limit him at the next level, he did not show a knack for finishing after contact and had a lack of contested catch prowess, unless the ball was delivered fairly high where he can take advantage of his length. In a deep Tight End class, Jake Briningstool will get to showcase his skills alongside a few other exciting prospects at the Senior Bowl.
