J.J. McCarthy suffered an injury to his ankle in the Vikings’ week 2 loss against Atlanta Sunday night. McCarthy struggled mightily against the much-improved Falcons defense, completing just 11 passes for 158 yards and two interceptions without recording a touchdown.

The good news for Dynasty owners is that McCarthy should return before too long.  The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, meaning he’ll hopefully only miss a maximum of three games. In the meantime, Superflex owners concerned about a thinly stocked waiver wire may look to acquire backup Carson Wentz.

Wentz is long past his MVP-caliber prime, but the team has games against the maligned Bengals secondary in week 3 and a favorable matchup against the Steelers, who haven’t been able to stop anyone thus far in week 4. If you lost a QB in week 2 and you’re literally out of any other options, you could start Wentz next week in SF leagues and hope he can get you 15-20 points.
