Louisville RB Isaac Guerendo impresses at Combine posting the best RAS in the past 24 years

Louisville RB Isaac Guerendo impresses at the Combine posting the best RAS in the past 24 years. Guerendo becomes only the second player to post a 9.99 since 1997. The last time this was accomplished was way back in 1999 when Edgerin James did it, and we all know his historic career went. Guerendo’s historic day started when he posted the best vertical jump of the day of 41.5”. He then went on to post the best 40 yard dash time of 4.33, where he hit a top speed of 24mph. Guerendo was the only running back this year to reach the 24mph mark this year at the Combine.

Guerendo is a great outside zone runner with good vision, he is a good pass catcher, and his speed mixed in with his size makes him a very intriguing prospect, especially after crushing it at the Combine. An injury plagued 2022 season with the Wisconsin Badgers saw Guerendo’s stock fall, which led to his transfer to Louisville. In 2023, Guerendo carried the ball 123 times for 810 yards and 11 touchdowns. Splitting time with Jahwar Jordan last year at Louisville, Guerendo should have very little wear on his body.

With Guerendo’s strong showing at the Combine, he becomes one of the most intriguing prospects in this draft class, especially when you consider how wide open this running back class is. After the Combine Guerendo stock skyrocketed, and now has put himself in the conversation of being one of the first 5 running backs off the board  in this draft class.
