Giants in rebuild mode with Tommy DeVito under center

The New York Giants are once again in rebuild mode. The team announced last week Daniel Jones would be benched. Jones subsequently asked for his release mid-week. Tommy DeVito was named the starter and the team’s bout with the Buccaneers was about as bad as you could imagine. DeVito threw for just 189 yards and the Giants fell 30-7, Devin Singletary scoring their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy were the only real relevant fantasy assets at play in the Giants’ loss. Nabers drew another nine targets, catching six for 64 yards for a decent PPR day. Tracy owns the majority of the backfield work and is an efficient back, but his touches are limited in an offense that has trouble sustaining drives. The rookie RB carried the ball nine times for 42 yards in this one, and caught all four of his targets for another 28 yards. Unfortunately, he also fumbled for the second time in as many games.

The Giants are 2-9 and at the bottom of the NFC East, having just released the QB that was once thought to be their future. Besides the two rookies Nabers and Tracy, the offense is going to be muted with DeVito and/or Drew Lock under center.
