Kirk Cousins
Falcons Open to Trading Kirk Cousins

For many months, the Atlanta Falcons have held firm on Kirk Cousins, QB2– until now.

Per Adam Schefter, the Atlanta Falcons have had private discussions involving a trade of Kirk Couins. Cousins, benched for the final three games in favor of rookie Michael Penix, attributed his poor play to injury in 2024.

Since his benching, Cousins was destined to be traded. However, the Atlanta Falcons publicly declared they had no intention to trade him. Signed in free agency to a 4-year, $160M deal during the 2024 offseason, Cousins (along with all of fantasy games) was shocked by the Falcons’ early selection of Penix.

Now it will be shocking if Cousins remains on the Falcons. The acquiring team would reportedly need to eat some salary in the deal. The Browns and Steelers top the list of potential suitors for Cousins.
