Zach Ertz
Ertz Suffers a Brutal Knee Injury

Washington Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn confirmed on Monday that veteran tight end Zach Ertz suffered a torn ACL in Week 14 vs the Minnesota Vikings.

After an MRI exam on Monday, Dan Quinn confirmed the terrible news that the 13-year veteran tight end has torn his ACL. Ertz was having a decent year for the Commanders, recording 50 receptions for 504 yards and four touchdowns.

At age 35, it begs the question of whether Ertz can recover from this injury and return to the NFL when healthy. He spent time with the Eagles, Cardinals, and Commanders and had a five-year stretch in which he ranked 10th or higher among tight ends. Ben Sinnott, John Bates and Colson Yankoff will all have opportunities to replace the void left by Ertz as they take on their divisional rivals, the New York Giants, in Week 15.
