DeAndre Hopkins
DeAndre Hopkins traded to the Kansas City Chiefs

Former  Texans and Cardinals All Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins finds a new home with the Kansas City Chiefs.

DeAndre Hopkins is on the move! The 32 year old DeAndre Hopkins was on the last year of a 2 year deal worth up to 26 million dollars he signed with the Titans prior to the 2023 season.  The Chiefs were able to acquire the former Cardinal and Texan standout wide receiver for a conditional 5th round pick that could become a 4th rounder.  Despite being ravaged by injuries at the wide receiver position, the Chiefs have managed to stay undefeated at 6-0 and now fill a massive need at the position by acquiring Hopkins.

Hopkins was off to a slower start than usual, posting only 15 catches for 173 yards and 1 touchdown in 6 games this season after being hampered in the pre-season by a knee injury.  Patrick Mahomes desperately needed a reliable pass catching option after losing Rashee Rice for the year and now Juju Smith Schuster for multiple weeks with a hamstring injury.  It will be interesting to see if Hopkins slow start was due to the knee injury he suffered early on, or if father time is catching up with him as his route participation did not pass 50 percent until week 4 against the Dolphins.  In spite of these questions Hopkins is a must add in all formats because of the team need and opportunity he faces.
